Accessibility statement
Last updated September 30, 2026
Our goal
We want everyone to be able to search for homes and reach an agent on Life and Homes, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or other assistive technology. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our guide. We have not completed a formal accessibility audit, so we do not claim that the site fully meets that standard today.
What the site does today
- A "Skip to content" link is the first thing on every page. It appears when you press Tab and moves past the navigation to the main content.
- Pages use standard landmarks (header, navigation, main content and footer) and headings, so screen readers can move between sections.
- The site follows your device's light or dark setting, and the button in the navigation switches between the two.
- You can enlarge text with your browser's zoom. The site does not block zooming.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the rotating agent cards on the homepage stay still.
Known limitations
- Maps on the search and listing pages are hard to use without a mouse or without sight. Every home shown on the search map is also in the results list as text, and each listing page gives the home's address.
- Listing photos and descriptions come from the agents who list the homes. Some photos have no description beyond the home's address.
- Some content comes from other services, such as Mapbox maps and magazines embedded in blog posts, and may not work as well with assistive technology.
- We have not yet checked color contrast across the whole site in both light and dark mode.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on the site gets in your way, or you need information in another format, email support@lifeandhomes.com or call (315) 865-5845. Tell us the page and what happened, and if you like, the browser or assistive technology you use. We will reply and help you get what you need.
Changes to this statement
